Notes

'Satin Rouge' peony (Paeonia 'Satin Rouge') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. It is a tree hybrid with double blooms in bright blood red that pass to old red. It flowers in early to late spring and attracts butterflies. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Star Gazer lily, Arabella clematis, and Jane magnolia.
