Notes

'Satsuma' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Satsuma') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears large, single, Tyrian pink flowers in early to mid spring. The carpels are smooth with dark pink tips, and the pink disk is easy to see. Millet & Son bred it, and the medium plant spreads over time.

Pairs well with Spotted beebalm, Prairie dropseed, and Grape hyacinth.
