Notes

'Savage Splendor' peony (Paeonia 'Savage Splendor') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The single, ruffled petals are lilac with pearl veins, and it blooms from spring into early summer. Arthur Percy Saunders bred it. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Balloon flower, Blue fescue, and Nelly Moser clematis.
