Notes

Pink (Dianthus chinensis) is a perennial for borders, containers, rock gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It forms a clumping mound of blue, gray, silver, or green leaves, 6 to 12 inches tall and wide. White, pink, red, or bicolor flowers open in spring, summer, and autumn, and they draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees.

Pairs well with Silver sage, Feverfew, Garlic chives, and Casa Blanca lily.
