Notes

'Scarlet Splash' peony (Paeonia 'Scarlet Splash') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its single, scarlet red flowers are fragrant and cupped, and the plant grows in an upright mound. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. New leaves emerge burgundy and turn green.

Pairs well with Clustered bellflower, Prairie dropseed, and Nodding onion.
