Notes

'Sea Shells Red' cosmos (Cosmos bipinnatus 'Sea Shells Red') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is tender to cold, and the first hard frost will kill it. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows fast into a clumping plant that reaches about 47 to 59 inches tall. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the flowers. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Ageratum, Franz Schubert garden phlox, Hidcote lavender, and Red fescue.
