Notes
'Shawnee Rose' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Shawnee Rose') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deep pink double flowers open in early to mid summer and have few stamens. The stems reach about 35 inches and carry good foliage. Myron D. Bigger bred it in 1979.
Pairs well with Lupine, Cinnamon fern, and Spanish bluebell.
