Notes

'Shishi-gashira' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Shishi-gashira') is a tree for specimen, accent, and woodland use. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes average to moist soil. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It grows slowly into a broad shape, and bees and birds visit it. It blooms in early to late spring.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Bracken, and Primrose.
