Notes
'Short and Sweet' wild pink (Silene caroliniana 'Short and Sweet') is a mounding perennial for rock gardens, borders, ground cover, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It blooms from early to late spring and into early summer. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers, and it handles dry spells well.
Pairs well with Blue-eyed grass, Sundrops, and Little bluestem.
