Notes
'Show-Off' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Show-Off') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The velvety ruby red flowers are the same color on the back of the petals. Two rows of guard petals surround fine petalodes, needle-like petals, and a small tuft of stamens. Stiff stems hold the blooms above clean green foliage.
Pairs well with Francee hosta, Prairie Sun rudbeckia, and Pink Impression tulip.
