Notes
'Shy Maid' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Shy Maid') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The early anemone type flowers open blush pink with lavender shading and a cream center. They age to white in early to mid spring. Edward Auten, Jr bred it.
Pairs well with Francee hosta, Royal fern, Pink Impression tulip, and Prairie Sun rudbeckia.
