Notes

'Silver Wings' peony (Paeonia 'Silver Wings') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Its cream to light yellow blooms have a darker center and maroon flares in early to late spring. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Butterflies visit the flowers, and Derek Irvine bred it.

Pairs well with Sweet woodruff, Greig's tulip, and Nelly Moser clematis.
