Notes
'Simple Simon' peony (Paeonia 'Simple Simon') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Edward Auten, Jr bred this hybrid, which has small, fragrant, dark red blooms that attract bees and butterflies. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The plant stays short and increases slowly.
Pairs well with Paprika yarrow, Krossa Regal hosta, Carlton daffodil, and Quick Fire panicle hydrangea.
