Notes

'Somerton' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Somerton') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears large, single, Tyrian pink flowers in early to mid spring. The carpels have bright red tips, and the pink disk is easy to see. Kelway bred it, and the plant stays large and compact.

Pairs well with Immortality iris, Grape hyacinth, and Indian grass.
