Notes
'Songbird Nightingale' columbine (Aquilegia vulgaris 'Songbird Nightingale') is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It blooms in early to late spring and again in early to late summer, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Plants reach 12 to 24 inches tall and wide.
Pairs well with Foxglove, Siberian iris, Silver feather grass, and Purple Sensation ornamental onion.
