Notes

'Souvenir de L’Exposition Universelle' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Souvenir de L’Exposition Universelle') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Calot bred it in 1867. It blooms late in spring with large, full double flowers in violet rose. The blooms are fragrant, so they smell lovely in a vase.

Pairs well with Golden Tiara hosta, Carnaval De Nice tulip, Incrediball hydrangea, and Tall fescue.
