Notes

'Spiralis' Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica 'Spiralis') is a tree for specimen use, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is an evergreen with a conical shape that also tolerates salt. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Give it plenty of room, since it can reach 30 to 40 feet tall.

Pairs well with Autumn fern, Sweet woodruff, and September Charm anemone.
