Notes

'Squeeze Box' inkberry (Ilex glabra 'Squeeze Box') is a shrub for hedges, privacy screens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy or clay soil. Rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It stays evergreen, so it gives winter interest. It also tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Swamp milkweed, Cinnamon fern, and Switchgrass.
