Notes

'Chamzin' inkberry (Ilex glabra 'Chamzin') is a shrub for hedges, privacy screens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy or clay soil. It stays evergreen, so it adds winter interest. Greenish-white flowers open in spring and summer and attract bees and butterflies. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Royal fern, Pickerel weed, Northern bayberry, and Sedge.
