Notes

'Standard Bearer' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Standard Bearer') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, double blooms open early in spring in dark old-rose with a bluish sheen. They have a strong, agreeable fragrance. This dwarf plant has stout stems and good foliage.

Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Foxtail barley, and Carlton daffodil.
