Notes

'Star' sweet cherry (Prunus avium 'Star') is a tree for pollinator gardens and food gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun. The columnar tree fits tight spaces, and the fruit ripens late for fresh eating. Plant a second cherry nearby, since it is not self-fertile. Bees and butterflies visit the flowers in early to late spring.

Pairs well with Red elderberry, Paul Scherer tulip, American Gold Rush black-eyed Susan, and Dropmore Scarlet honeysuckle.
