Stiff dogwood (Cornus foemina) is a shrub for borders, hedges, rain gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy or loamy soil. Small white flowers form flat-topped clusters that attract butterflies, bees, and birds. The fruits are bright blue, and the twigs are reddish when young.
