Notes

'Strawberry Wine' peony (Paeonia 'Strawberry Wine') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Its large, fragrant, rose-pink flowers open in spring, and bees and butterflies visit them. The stems and leaf stalks share the flower color, and the color lasts all season.

Pairs well with Hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Nodding onion.
