Notes

Striped maple (Acer pensylvanicum) is a tree for shade gardens, winter interest, and low maintenance landscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The green bark has white stripes that stay easy to spot in winter. Yellow spring flowers draw bees and butterflies, and the leaves turn lemon-yellow in fall.

Pairs well with Fire Island hosta, Incrediball Blush smooth hydrangea, and American Pillar American arborvitae.
