Striped rosemallow (Hibiscus striatus) is a perennial for borders, moist sites, and background screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil. It grows 84 to 120 inches tall and bears purplish-pink flowers in late spring and from early to late summer. It sits low on the menu for deer. Give it room, since it can spread 36 to 48 inches wide.
