Notes

'Strykylthorne' peony (Paeonia 'Strykylthorne') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Large, fragrant yellow flowers have a cream-apricot glow at the base, and bees and butterflies visit them. The stems reach about 39 inches, so give them support to hold the heavy blooms.

Pairs well with Yarrow, Blue grama, Queen of Night tulip, and Butterfly milkweed.
