Notes

'Suffruticosa' common box (Buxus sempervirens 'Suffruticosa') is a shrub for hedges, borders, formal gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet soil of most types. It grows slowly into a dense, evergreen mound that holds its shape with little work. Bees visit it, and it gives the garden winter interest. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Japanese holly, Munstead lavender, and Christmas fern.
