Notes

'Sunset Shades' common cowslip (Primula veris 'Sunset Shades') is a perennial for borders, containers, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Fragrant red to orange flowers hang in drooping clusters in early to late spring and attract butterflies and bees. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Plant it among early spring bulbs.

Pairs well with Daffodil, Little Beauty tulip, and Empress Wu hosta.
