Notes

'Suzanne' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Suzanne') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Edward Auten, Jr bred it in 1955. The double flowers are bright red and open in early to mid spring. The color holds well, and the stiff stems help keep the blooms upright.

Pairs well with Stargazer lily, Garlic chives, and Kentucky bluegrass.
