Notes
'Swamp Angel' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Swamp Angel') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Dark red Japanese type blooms open in early summer and measure eight inches across. The center is full and the flowers hold well when cut. Stems are stiff and strong, and the foliage stays clean.
Pairs well with Monkshood, Gentian, and Cinnamon fern.
