Notes
Swamp rose mallow (Hibiscus grandiflorus) is a perennial for pollinator gardens, rain gardens, specimen plantings, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet, sandy or loamy soil. Each pink flower has a red to purple center and grows 4 to 6 inches long. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit it. The velvety, heart-shaped leaves add texture, and the plant can reach 6 feet tall or more.
Pairs well with Thalia, Inkberry, and Mexican petunia.
