Notes

'Sweet Summer Love' clematis (Clematis 'Sweet Summer Love') is a vine for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Masses of small, fragrant, wine red flowers turn royal purple as they age. Szczepan Marczynski bred it.

Pairs well with Limelight hydrangea, Little bluestem, and Purple Coneflower coneflower.
