Notes

'Polish Spirit' clematis (Clematis 'Polish Spirit') is a vine for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Blue flowers with red anthers open in spring, summer, and autumn, and bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit them. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Brother Stefan Franczak bred it in 1989.

Pairs well with Etoile Violette clematis, Madame Julia Correvon clematis, and New Dawn rose.
