Notes

Sweet white violet (Viola blanda) is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland edges, rock gardens, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes part sun or part shade and average to wet soil of most types. The fragrant white flowers attract butterflies and bees. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Runners help it spread, so give it room to roam.

Pairs well with American maidenhair fern, Flore Pleno lily of the valley, Sherwood Purple phlox, and Spring Beauty Siberian squill.
