Notes

'Sherwood Purple' phlox (Phlox stolonifera 'Sherwood Purple') is a perennial for ground cover, shade gardens, woodland edges, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Fragrant purplish blue flowers open in spring and again in summer, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit them. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Rosea lily of the valley, Bunchberry, and Red fescue.
