Notes

'Sylva' camellia (Camellia japonica 'Sylva') is a shrub for borders, woodland gardens, and pollinator plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun and average to wet soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It grows slowly into a columnar evergreen that also tolerates salt. Bees and birds visit the blooms, which open in winter and spring.

Pairs well with Cherry laurel, Bracken, Great blue lobelia, and American linden.
