Notes

'Telstar' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Telstar') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its double, dark red flowers do not fade. The stiff stems hold the blooms up well, and it is probably the earliest double red lactiflora to bloom. Edward Auten, Jr bred it.

Pairs well with Krossa Regal hosta, Cheerfulness daffodil, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
