Notes

'Téniers' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Téniers') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Crousse bred it, and it bears double red blooms in early summer. The flowers are fragrant, and the dark foliage forms a compact, medium mound.

Pairs well with Knapweed, Royal fern, and Spanish bluebell.
