Notes

'Tessera' peony (Paeonia 'Tessera') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimen planting, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Fragrant, semi-double orange blooms open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer, and bees and butterflies visit them. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Nassos Daphnis bred it.

Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Blue fescue, and Pink Impression tulip.
