Notes
Texas vervain (Verbena halei) is a perennial for low maintenance beds, meadow plantings, and woodland edges. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to pass it by. Slender spikes of small bluish to lavender flowers open from the bottom up, and butterflies and bees visit them. It also works well in xeriscaping.
Pairs well with Sideoats grass, Dense blazing star, and Blackfoot daisy.
