Notes

'The Admiral' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'The Admiral') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Franklin bred it in 1940. It blooms in late spring with huge, double, white flowers splashed with crimson. Strong, straight stems hold the tall plant upright.

Pairs well with Minuteman hosta, Cheerfulness daffodil, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Sedge.
