Notes

'The Disc' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'The Disc') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Sass bred it in 1926. Tall stems carry double, deep pink to rose-bud flowers that look like round, flat discs. They open in late spring and look showy in a vase.

Pairs well with Minuteman hosta, Black-eyed Susan, and Ostrich fern.
