Notes

'The Duchess of Cornwall' clematis (Clematis 'The Duchess of Cornwall') is a vine for containers, cottage gardens, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. The large violet-blue flowers have golden stamens and fade to mid-blue with age. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It blooms again from early summer into autumn and attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

Pairs well with Obsidian coral bells, Little bluestem, and Susan magnolia.
