'Tong Yun Jin Yan' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Tong Yun Jin Yan') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Jun Tao bred it, and it blooms in late spring. The red petals surround pink and yellow streaked staminodes that look like fireworks. Upright stems reach about 29 inches.
Pairs well with Orange lily, Shrub rose, and Cinnamon fern.
