Notes
'Tonka Sublime' peony (Paeonia 'Tonka Sublime') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Roger F. Anderson bred it, and the purple semi-double flowers have red flares and a subtle fragrance. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Plants reach about 30 inches and stand upright, so they need no support.
Pairs well with Magnus coneflower, Switchgrass, and Queen of Night tulip.
