Notes
'Tuxedo' weigela (Weigela Florida 'Tuxedo') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimens, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Pink flowers open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer, and they draw butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. Deer tend to pass it by. The dark purple leaves contrast with the pink blooms.
Pairs well with Quick Fire panicle hydrangea, Green Spice coral bells, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
