Notes

'Twenty Four Carat' peony (Paeonia 'Twenty Four Carat') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Butter-yellow blooms with carmine-red highlights open in early to late spring and attract butterflies. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. John and Dot McFarlane introduced it in 2002.

Pairs well with Lenten rose, Jackmanii clematis, and Big bluestem.
