Notes
'Ultra' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Ultra') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its light pink double blooms open in early to mid spring and have light yellow stamens that peep through. The arching stems reach about 33 inches and form an open bush. William Henry Krekler bred it.
Pairs well with Nepeta, Royal fern, and Scentara Double Blue lilac.
