Notes

'Unassuming Beauty' peony (Paeonia 'Unassuming Beauty') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. White blooms with dark purple flares open in early to late spring and attract butterflies. Derek Irvine bred it. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Cat mint, Black Parrot tulip, and Blue fescue.
