Notes

'Valens' peony (Paeonia 'Valens') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Early blooming semi-double flowers blend creamy yellow with light salmon pink on ruffled petals. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Joshua Scholten bred it, and its strong stems stand upright without support.

Pairs well with Fragrant Bouquet hosta, Sensitive fern, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
